Imagine leaving the stress and hassle of everyday life behind and escaping
to the ‘other world’ of The Fork Stables. Situated just over 40 miles east
of Charlotte, North Carolina, the estate spans over 1,300 acres where horses
and their riders can peacefully coexist with the open land and its wildlife.
The Fork was purchased in 1999 by Charlotte businessman James W. Cogdell.
Located at the confluence of the Pee Dee and Rocky Rivers in Stanly County,
North Carolina, the land has a rich historical significance including being
home to the Siouan and Pee Dee Indians. The land was also part of The King’s
Highway, on which George Washington traveled during his tours of the South.
