Attention clinic participants and guests!!! We will be offering shooting lessons during the clinic for those who are interested. The price is $60 per individual for an hour lesson plus the price of ammo, targets, and gun rental. Call ahead for time arrangements!
The Fork Farm is pleased to host The Fork Farm's Eventing Clinic Series with Rebecca Howard
The clinics will feature two days of teaching. Lessons will be semi-private/small group – jumping lessons. We welcome all levels of riders and horses.
CLINIC FORMAT
SATURDAY: Show Jumping - The jumping lesson will be in the arena. The groups will be small – every one will receive individual attention. The lesson will feature exercises to increase communication and accuracy in the show jumping phase, as well exercises relating to safe Cross-Country riding.
SATURDAY NIGHT: We will have a pot luck dinner and share stories and wisdoms! Rebecca will be available to help riders with their competition and conditioning plans.
SUNDAY: Cross-Country - The Fork facility has an extensive variety of exercises to challenge and solidify skills. The range of difficulty ensures that even the most novice riders or horses will gain confidence about riding in the open, while more advanced pairs will feel challenged and leave feeling ready to achieve their goals. Come take advantage of the cross country course, as this is one of the few times the course is open!!
Rebecca Howard is a Canadian high-performance rider and the equestrian director here at The Fork. She has spent years training under some of the best of the best in eventing, including: Joni Lynn Peters, Nick Holmes-Smith, Stuart Black, Jim Wofford, and Karen and David O’Connor. She has coached for BC in the North American Young Rider’s Championships, and has achieved her Level 1 Equine Canada coaching certificate. She has competed at the pinnacle of eventing, the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, CCI****. She has numerous Top Canadian, and Top Ten finishes at the advanced CCI levels. She is a supportive and articulate coach and clinician who strives to help each of her student’s reach their performance goals. The Fork Stables is a world class equestrian facility located in Norwood, North Carolina. It boasts 1,300 beautiful acres with 90x50m and 110x80m outdoor rings; Beginner Novice through Advanced cross country course; and over 30 miles of trails. The facility also includes a nine room guest lodge, a hunting lodge, permanent guest stabling, and many other outdoor activities.
The Fork Farm will have outdoor activities available for those participating in the clinics and their guests. These include such things as open trails for hiking and biking, water activities, and many more exciting options that will make the experience fun for everyone!
