With North Carolina’s deer population already topping 1.25 million, balance is needed.

Since its inception in 1999, The Fork has operated under Quality Deer Management Association standards, providing  cover, food crops, and hunting controls that promote strong does, healthy fawns , and bucks that reach full maturity.

Wild deer at The Fork feed on clover, sunflower, grain sorghum, corn, buckwheat, and special Spring, Summer, and Fall mixes. The Fork has developed a custom mineral mix, which, when added to the soil, promotes robust antler growth and provides essential minerals needed by pregnant and nursing does.

There is no better measure of our efforts, and no better reward, than healthy wildlife.
